Yo, EQ and I went strawberry picking today. Star Farm is little, we passed it twice, but what they lack in big they make up for in berries.
We each picked three boxes, it took about 15 minutes - the drive to Rockdale took 45 minutes, hmmm.
Our favorite strawberry treat is:
Strawberry Ice
Make a simple syrup with 1 cup boiling water and 1 cup sugar.
Fill your blender with berries, add 1/2 the syrup, puree.
Pour the mix into a 9X13 dish.
Fill the blender again, add the remaining syrup, puree.
Add to the 9X13 dish.
Put the dish into your freezer, set the timer for 30 minutes. Every 30 minutes scrape and stir the ice. If you don't scrape and stir you will end up with a giant ice cube as opposed to a dish with a sorbet consistency.
