Ideas for your week

Two posts on one day?  Well yes, I have written lots in my journal but posted little.

Some new favorite sites:
http://www.pbs.org/newshour/extra/poetry/index.html#
This above link is for poetry.  It's really fabulous.  We write lots of poems in our schooling at home.  The rules, tools and form page has all sorts of poetry help, from writing a cinquain, to a couplet.  We've written poems about how to pet a lion, what happens on the trampoline, about watches and time; my boys really like poetry - cool!

This second site is about nature.  There are pages on how to draw things, matching games, word finds, habitats to color, a page on how long it takes various items of trash to rot.

A really good, very funny read:
Mennonite in a Little Black Dress
by: Rhoda Janzen
This is a non-fiction memoir about a woman in her 40s who has returned to her Mennonite family after her husband leaves her for a guy he meets on gay.com.  Rhoda is a funny gal, if you read at all, you should read this book.

Cooking idea =
order a pizza

Art idea:
Wrap duct tape backwards around your kid's wrist, so the sticky part is out, and not too tight.  Take a walk, collect little things that can be stuck to the tape (feathers, nuts, little rocks...), it's a nature bracelet.
